[BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN UORIIKSPONDiiNT ] Waiiii. Tuesday. Tin-; ordinary meeting of the Waihi Hospital trustees was held last night, Mr. T. Gilmore (chairman) presiding. Plans for tin: installation of a water supply for iiie suppression and motive power for tlio l'elton wheel were submitted by -Mr. ~E. Barclay, architect, of Auckland, and received. Plans from Or. Purely for the future building of consumptive sheds wore received and filed for reference. The report of the medical .superintendent, amongst other matters, stated that the past month had been a very busy one, the. cases, admitted to the institution for treatment during that period numbering 17, discharges 10, and deaths 3. There remained in the hospital 20 patients. The] doctor urged that steps be taken to pre-; vent visitors, frequenting the fever wards,: owing to the danger of infection and the detrimental effect on patients. lie also recommended that consumptives under treat-! meitt and future cases of phthisis he kept' in the shelter-sheds until such time as they; were fit to cany on the treatment in their i own homes with safety, or to be removed to a sanatorium. The report was adopted, j | and if was decided to post notices prohibit-; ing visitors from entering the fever ward. i The secretary (Mr. Max 1). King) submit-! :ted a statement showing that the arrears for treatment by patients from June, 1903,' to March, 1907, totalled £620 19s 9d, and j a committee was appointed to go into the question with a view to recovering ar- j rears. A memo, from the Paymaster-General,! stated that £53 19s 4d*had been remitted to the hospital account at the National Bank, as subsidy on private subscriptions. Accounts amounting to £269 13.* 8d (ineluding salaries £90 17s lOd, and general accounts £178 15s lOd) were passed for payment. j Messrs. Gilmour. Clarke, Donaldson, and ! Cathey were appointed a House Committee for the ensuing term. j
