THE RAINFALL.
The rainfall for June, notwithstanding last week's boisterous weather, was decidedly below the average for the corresponding months during the last 40 years. The early and middle, parts of last month were exceptionally fine; in fact, no rain was recorded from the Ist to the 13th. The total rainfall for June was 3.61 in. Rain fell on 10 days, and the heaviest- fall for any one day was 1.05 in, which was recorded on Wednesday last for the previous 24 hours. The average rainfall for the month of Juno for the past 40 years is 4.79 in. The following are the figures for the months of June:— l9o6, 1.54 in ; 1905, 6.oin; 1904, 6.07 in; 1903, 3.20 in. ' i , ,
