C. Dacre has received a telegram from Cafiiain Skinner, of the auxiliary schooner Kaeo, stating that the vessel had finished working the East. Coast ports on Wednesday and was on her : " way to the Bay pf Plenty.The three-masted schooner Zingara has completed her loading of timber at Ngunguru for Gisborne and is. expected to sail this morning. The barque Northern Chief came; down from Chelsea yesterday and berthed at the- Hobsonstreet Wharf. The v barque will sail for Kaipara on Monday to load timber for. Sydney. . "THE HINEMOA. - - The Government steamer Hinemoa arrived from Wellington, the East Coast, and Tauranga last evening on lighthouse duty, etc. , The steamer leaves for the North to-day. 1 THE SOUTHERN CROSS. The Melanesian Mission steamer Southern Cross, Captain W. Sinker, arrived from a cruise in the =sS Islands and Norfolk Island yesterday morning. Particulars of the steamer's voyage will be found elsewhere in this issue. The Southern Cross leaves for Norfolk Island and Melanesia again on July 8.

THE TALUNE. The Union Company's steamer Talune left Gisborne for Auckland at 10 a.m. yesterday and is due at -Auckland about 9 a.m. to-day. THE WANAKA. The Union Company's steamer Wanaka arrived from the South, Napier, and, Gisbome yesterday afternoon with a large cargo of produce and 1000 sheep. The steamer left the Bluff on May 30 and called at Oamaru,. Timaru, Napier, and Gisborne, meeting with fine weather on the passage. THE ALLANTON. The steamer Allanton, which put into Auckland on .Wednesday short of coal whilst on the voyage' from Valparaiso to Sydney, will be floated into Calliope Dock to-day for cleaning and painting. The Union Steam Ship Company are acting as ~ente for the steamer. THE MIOWERA. The * Union"' Company's steamer Miowera left Sydney > for .Auckland at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and will be due on Sunday next. The steamer has 113 passengers, excluding nine Ohinese; also 840 tons of cargo for Auckland, including ■ 114 tone for "transhipment to Tahiti. THE MANAPOUBI. •The Union Company's steamer Manaponri is due to-day from the Society and Cook Islands. THE STAR OF AUSTRALIA.
