In the afternoon there was an exceptionally largo attendance, while in the evening the floor was again well patronised by skaters. The annual gathering of the Bands: of /Hope was held in the; Choral Hall last evening. The hall was crowded, and the ■ - choir seats were filled with youthful singers. One was illustrative of the material products of the colony, and tho other was tho Bands of Hope gathering. DEVOXPORI METHODIST CHURCH CONCERT. / . | The anniversary concert, of- the .Devonport Methodist 'I Church .was held, on Thursday evening. The Rev. S. Griffith presided, and presented the annual report, which was of a satisfactory nature. An excellent musical programme was provided, consisting . of:. instrumental items by Miss and Mr. F. Gribbin, Miss Cardno, and Mr. B. D. Buddie. songs by Mrs,. Sutherland, the Misses Gillingbam; and Penny, ; and Mr. L. Dixon, and a recitation by Mrs. G. S. Cook.
