FOR PRACTICE ON LAND.
An overland rowing shell, Used for practice in America by college enthusiasts who" are not near a, river. It is claimed that on it a crew can develop rowing muscles and learn to keep stroke. A rail extends along each side of the vehicle, to which straps are attached. By alternate pulling on these ; straps and pushing back' against foot braces the car is propelled.
