SPORT."

Wellington, Monday. . The question of ''unclean sport ".-will Bo discussed at the next meeting of the Wellington centre of the Now Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. ' Mr. B. A. Guise will move, '.'That this centre ;. appreciates 1 the action of the Council of the New ZealandAmateur Athletio Association in wisely deferring completion of reciprocal arrangements with '.the; : Now Zealand Athletic Union on the following grounds: (1) That the attitude of the Athletio Union in respect to unclean athletic ■ sports does not commend itself to this centre. (2) That the union by allowing a disqualified person to; compete at their first championship sports displayed their unfitness to be entrusted with the control of, anybranch/of athletic snorts and : established a precedent which if followed by sports societies affiliated to the union, would encourage corrupt practices and unclean 6port. j (3) That the 'union has by its passive attitude towards proprietary Syndicates, " which : are subsidised, by bookmakers for conducting"athletic sports meetings in large centres, at which the principal attraction is betting/ forfeited all claim for consideration by amateur athletic authorities.' ;..■"..; ' . : .
