CONGO FREE STATE.
RESENTMENT AT ENGLISH CRITICISMS.. By. Telegraph.— Association.— \ 'Brussels, May 12. M, Liebaert, Belgian Minister for Finance, has delivered an extraordinary speech in the Belgium Senate. Replying to the criticisms ■'' of J : the Liberals of the administration of the Congo Free State, he protested against attacks emanating from England being repeated in Belgium. He added i " We cannot- tolerate this attitude of other countries. Belgium is not the Transvaal." The Liberals maintained that their criticisms of the mismanagement of the Congo Free State were based on the overwhelming reports of the Commission of Inquiry appointed in 805, by the Belgian Government. * A vote of confidence in the new I Ministry was carried by 54 to 39.
