HOSPITAL SUNDAY AT THAMES.

Thames, . Sunday. A successful meeting and procession of friendly societies took , place this afternoon in aid of the funds of the Thames Hospital. A large number of brethren took part in the procession, which assembled at the bank corner, Grahamstown, and marched to the Oddfellows' Hall, Shortland, headed- by the Hauraki Battalion Band, under Bandmaster Clark, and the Hauraki. Band, under Bandmaster Anderson. Addresses were delivered by Mr. A. E. Greenslade, (Grand.' Chief Ranger, A.0.F.) and Mr. J. McLeod (district corresponding secretary, M.U., 1.0.0. F.). . At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. F. Shaw (Deputy-Grand Master, 1.0.0. F.) stated that it had been decided by the local societies to make Hospital Sunday an annual affair, as an acknowledgment of the good work done by the hospital, and the assistance given by. it to the "friendly societies. The procession then reassembled, and marched to the hospital, where several selections of music were played by the Hauraki Battalion Band. The collection resulted in a considerable sum being raised.
