LOVER SHOT DEAD.
MINER'S VENGEANCE. - ! A sensational murder was committed at the town of Goldfield, Nevada, by a mineri named Hinds, who had just returned from j Alaska. Hinds entered a saloon in the town, where he found his wife, who had run away from Alaska with a Russian, and with whom she was sitting at/a table dining; .- . . ■ ///;; Hinds drew a revolver and shot the Russian dead, amid the excitement of the crowd in the saloon. , Several men , rushed to seize j Hinds, when he sprang upon a table, and. flourishing his revolver, said: " Friends, I want to "tell you something.. That . man whom I have killed ran away with my wife, and I have come all the way from Alaska to kill him/He seduced her, and now I have had #my vengeance I will take whatever medicine is waiting for me." ■ Having said this, Hinds stepped down from the table and calmly surrendered. His wife, who was in terror of being killed by her husband, hurriedly left the saloon before Hinds was taken to the town gaol. •"" • It seems that Hinds and the Russian, who is said to have been a man of title, were partners in Alaska and staked out a claim together. For a long time the claim did not "pan out," and the Russian and Mrs.Hinds, who : is a very handsome woman, getting [tired of the life, eloped. Hinds made no sign and stayed working the mine, striking [a rich lead shortly after the disappearance of the couple. Having made a moderate "pile," he went in search of the runaways, .with the above result. /; "■:;/: :/,
