ARBITRATION COURT.

The Arbitration Court, consisting of Mr. Justice Sim and Messrs. R. Slater and S. Brown, continued its sittings at ten o'clock yesterday morning. ' ': Mr. Way, appearing on behalf of the workers in the waterside workers' dispute, stated that the parties had been unable to come to any settlement. The hearing of the dispute was fixed for Monday. AN ACCIDENT CASE. " An application was made by Mr. Skelton, on behalf of Brown Brothers and Gcddes, to review an award in which the Court ordered the applicants, under the Workers' Compensation, ' for Accidents Act, to pay the sum of 2s per week to Miss Rose 'Phinix for incapacity caused while working in their employ. Miss (Phinix opposed the application. Mr. Skelton stated that while Miss Phinix was working in his clients', employ she met with an'accident by which,the tops of three •of the fingers on her right hand were taken off. She was earning 8s per week at the time, and as it was considered that her future earnings could not amount to more than 4s per week through her _ incapacity the Court made an order against the present applicants for the- payment of 2s per week. That was five years ago. At the present time Miss Phinix was employed in a laundry at' £1 a week, in addition to other moneys which she could get by working overtime and doing special work. He requested, in view of this, that the order for the payment of;2s per week should be cancelled. After hearing evidence in support of the application, the ■ Court reserved its decision.
