Notice is hereby given that the Waitemata County Council proposes' to engage in . the following undertaking, viz.: The Drainage and Disposal of Sewerage of Nor'thcote Riding, Drainage District No. i, being all that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards ■ the north by Bradney Road and the Great North Road to the western boundary of original section 51, of the Parish of Takapuna, towards the west by the western - boundary of original section 51 aforesaid to Little Shoal Bay, and -.-. again towards the west and south-west by Little Shoal Bay and the Waitemata Harbour to Stokes' Point, towards the south, south-east, and east by the Waitemata Harbour and Shoal Bay to the place of commencement, and to purchase all material, and engage such labour as the said Council may think requisite or necessary for the purposes '■aforesaid. 2. That the said. Council, ■ being unable to provide the necessary funds for such - work out of the ordinary revenue of the: said district, purposes to borrow, under the provisions of " The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and Amendments, and : of every other power thereunto enabling, the Bum of £6000, at a rate of interest not exceeding 4J per cent, per annum, and proposes as security for repayment of the said loan a special rate of elevensixteenths of a penny in the £, and a jinking fund of at least one-half per centum per annum, the currency of the loan to be 32 years, and it is proposed to pay out of the loan the costs and charges incurred in connection with the raising of the loan, but not the interest . for the first year. Built by the Standard Motor Construction Company, NEW JERSEY CITY. The following is the Chief Engineer's report on the first engine supplied to the Union S.S. Co., in March last: — < . We worked it continually for eight hours, the engine showing no signs of heating •, "The Traders are quite taken with the design and the apparent ease with which it works.—(Signed), W. So pleased is the company with its first purchase that they have ordered a second engine of same power, viz.. 12-16 8.H., for another launch, now under construction by Mr. Chas. Bailey, junior. These Engines are built in sizes from 8-h.p. to 1500. All engines are guaranteed to develop at least 25 PEE CENT. MORE POWER THAN THAT ■ FOE WHICH THEY ARE RATED.
