"JACK SHANNON."
j On-Saturday evening Mr. Andrew Mack and his company will present* " Jack Shannon" for the first time in Auckland. This play comes with high credentials ; from Australia, and also from Wellington, '-where Mr. Mack increased his popularity considerably by his performance of the title role. The play ■will afford Mr. Mack another opportunity of introducing '•■ several of his own compositions, including. "The Irish Street Singer," "Eyes of Blue," My Heart's Delight," and" his famous " Dove. Song," which num ber is assisted by the introduction of several tame doves and pigeons that add considerably to the oharm of the song. "Jack Shannon" was specially - written ?■ for Mr. Mack.'. There are many melodramatic qualities in the play, but.it is of such decidedly ingenious construction, that for once in a while one. experiences; surprises as the denouements come, and there are said to ' lie many quiet moments in the play in which the real human note, is delicately struck. As Mr. Mack has three more plays to present during, his limited season, there can be but four performances of this unusually popular comedy- drama. C ■ "- ■''■ ;: . ■'■' ' \ '■ The company repeated ••'."Tom -Moore" last evening before a large attendance, and it will be played again to-night. ',-....'■ OPERA HOUSE. '- ' Fuller's Vaudeville Company are presenting a good all-round programme this week. Miss Lucy Lavinia sings "Colombo" and "Jasper, Don't You Hear Me," and Miss Amy Blackio "Only a Message From Homo, Sweet Home."
