ALLIANCES WITH JAPAN.

Paris, May 8. Mr. Kurmo, the Japanese Ambassador to Paris,- in an interview with the Matin yesterday said that soon there would be four Powers pledged to maintain tho status quo in the Far East, and Japan was ready to conclude a similar treaty with the United States..
The four Powers referred' to''must bo Great Britain, France, Japan, and Russia, the last-named being included owing to the provisions of tho Treaty of Peace.
