[BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.) '. ; , ; Gisborne, Thursday. A letter was; read at the Borough Council meeting from the Governor's secretary (Mr. Waterfield) relative to the ij visit of His Excelency to Gisborne, extending from May 20 to 22. The Mayor said the Mounted Rifles would meet the Governor at Wharerata and escort him to town. The county chairman and councillors would then meet him, ond welcome, him to the county, and the borough representatives would accord him a welcome at the town boundary. On arrival in Cisborne, an address would be presented to His Excellency. On Tuesday the programme would include a drive round the-s district, and a visit to To Karaka in the afternoon, with an entertainment in the Sjevening. On Wednesday a visit would be paid to the Gisborne schools, followed by |; a motor drive to the Te Arai native church •"- and Waerenga-a-hika College, returning by way of Whatuapoko.
