[FKOM OUR OWS COBRESFOXDENTS.] . BUCKLAND. A CONCERT, promoted by Mr. Sam. Smith, in aid of funds for the Public Hall, was held on Tuesday evening. Mr. E. Allan presided. The following ladies and gentlemen' contributed:— Mesdames James Wylie, Davy, and Attenborrow,. Misses Davy stud iPiggot, : ; and Messrs. A. H. Tapper, Fred. White, Noble, and : Cody. Several tableaux were arranged by Mr. S. Smith; : At the '■ conclusion :'; of the programme the hall was cleared for dancing, which was kept up till a late hour. Mr. Hex. Wilson' acted as M.0.. aod. tho dance music was supplied by Mr. A. H. Tapper. MATAMATA. ALL over the Piako County contractors are taking * advantage of the fine weather to push on road and bridge repairing. In order to facilitate the carting of the new Marigawhero: settlers' building material and general requirements, the Government has decided to build a, bridge over the Mangawhero Creek, on the road leading into the recently-settled estate. Mr. A- Stanley, of Matamata, has 1 secured the contract, and has the bulk of the timber oh; the ground ready to begin , the work.
