[BX TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT, , ' Waihi, Wednesday. The remains of tho late Mr. Jas. Hatton •were interred in tho \Vaihi cemetery this afternoon. Numerous representatives of the" mining industry and business sections of tho community attended the funeral, and the services at the church and grave-side were conducted by. tho Rev. Father Williams. Tho fortnightly meeting of the local branch of the Liberal and Labour Federation was held last .night, when the programme for the winter season was arranged. A start will bo mad« on Tuesday, May 21, with a mock trial, and will, be followed a fortnight later with a lecture by Mr. G. Hicks. At tho third meeting there will be a public debate on the Land bill. _.-_-■ Dr. Purdy, district health officer, visited Waihi yesterday to inspect the arrangements in connection with the Consumptive Patients' Hospital. He left this afternoon for Thames..
