CITY SCHOOLS COMMITTEE.
THE ordinary meeting of the City Schools Committee was held at Nelson-street School, last evening:. Present: Messrs. P. M. Mackay (chairman). P. E. N. Gaudin, K. Skerson, W. Robins, and Dr. Hiudic Neil.
Napier-Street School: The secretary of the Education Hoard (Mr. Vincent Rice) wrote, stating that the Board had no funds available for painting the- interior of the Napierstreet school. Beresford-street School: The secretary of the Education Board wrote stating that the Board would support the committee in its opposition to any steps being taken to alienate a portion of the Beresford-street school playground for the purpose of enlarging the grounds of the proposed Girls' High School. Annual Report: The committee considered in committee their annual report to be presented to householders at the forthcoming meeting. Condolence: A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the lato Mr. R. M. Watt.
