Mr. Justice Sim and Mrs. Sim, of Wellington, are visiting Itotorua. Mr. G. A. Gribbin left for the South yesterday by the Rarawa. The Rev. Father Clune went South yesterday by the Rarawa. Air. Th. De Schryver left yesterday for the South by the Rarawa. Captain Rotter came up from the South by the Takapunu yesterday. Dr. and Mrs. Brown were passengers by the Rarawa for New Plymouth yesterday. Dr. and Mrs. Piirdy were passengers from the South by the Victoria yesterday. Mrs. W. S. Whitley returned from her visit to the South yesterday by the Victoria. Mr. and Mrs. (!. W. Morse, handieapper to the A.R.C.. left for New Plymouth by ,he Rarawa yesterday, on his way to Forded. The marriage of Miss Ruby Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moss Davis, of Auckland, with Mr. Edward R. Harris is announced to take place on Wednesday next, at the New West Synagogue, St. Petersburg Place. London. Mr. and Mrs. Davis, who have been residing in England for the last three years, intend returning to the colony in August next. A pleasing ceremony took place on Saturday at the warehouse of Messrs. Jag,'cr and Harvey, Queen-street Wharf, when the employees presented Mr. W. A. Harvey with a handsome gold matchbox. The box: was inscribed as follows—"Presented to Mr. W. A. Harvey, on his 61st birthday. April 6, 1907." Mr. dagger made the presentation, in a few wellchosen words, conveying the good wishes of the employees for long life and prosperity. Mr. Harvey made a suitable reply, and trusted that the good feeling existing between the firm and the employees would long continue. Mi., W. M. Commons, late Mayor of Tauranga, was on Saturday, before a larg" gathering in the Municipal Chambers, Taurangi»t* presented ; with an illuminated address and a massive bracket to accompany the same. Lieutenant-Colonel Roberts, stipendiary magistrate, who presided, made the • presentation on behalf of the subscribers. The address bore over 300 fignatures; and was signed by members of the Borough Council and staff, members of the County Council, members of the Bench and Bar, and various representative institutions and associations. Mr. Commons, who has been connected with Tauranga for 32 years, made a suitable response to the presentation. Mr. Charles Buckland Pharazyn, son . of the late Mr. Charles Pharazyn, was married at St. Paul's " Pro-Cathedral, Wellington, on Thursday afternoon to Miss Brenda Hacon, only daughter of the late Dr. Hacon, of Christchurch. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. G. F. C. Campbell (Valuer-General), was attended by Miss Lucy Brandon and Miss Phyllis Higginson and three young girls (Misses Pharazyn (2) and Joseph). Mr. Harry Pharazyn, of Hawke's Bay (brother of the bridegroom) was best man, and Mr. Robt. Turn-bull acted as groomsman. Amongst the numerous gifts was one from Sir John Logan Campbell, of Auckland, a relative of the- bride.
