A PROFITABLE YEAR.

Wellington*, Friday. The balance-sheet of the City Council for the year ended March 31, shows receipts £170,827 : expenditure, £168,057 ; balance, £2170. The municipal tramway accounts for the same period show a profit of £14,300, or nine per cent, 011 'the capital invested. After setting aside £10.500 for depreciation, etc., a net profit of £3800 is shown.
