The current issue of the AUCKLAND Weekly Nkws (the 'Frisco Mail Number) is a really splendid production, eminently suitable for sending abroad by the outgoing mail. The recent- great floods, of which everyone has been talking, have been specially treated in a superb series of pictures of absorbing interest taken at the height of the flood in all parts of the affected districts. These comprise a unique collection of views taken along the railway line, showing the washouts, the " held up " trains, and a derailed engine in the King Country. The miscellaneous pictures of the floods have been gathered from all over the Auckland Province,- and show damaged bridges, houses washed away, boats in the streets of country townships, and many exciting incidents from all parts of the country. Apart from this splendid record, the issue contains, among other current events, scenes at the unveiling of a Seddon Memorial at Pukekohe, the Wellington Racing Club's Summer Meeting, New South Wales bowlers in Auckland, group of the NewZealand Defence Council, and portraits of the late Sir James Fergusson, . and the late diver. Harper, who successfully discovered the Elingamite's treasure at the Three Kings. A highly amusing series of sketches showing the comic side of the recent floods, together with abundance of high-class and varied letterpress, contribute to a number invaluable for sending abroad to friends by the outgoing 'Frisco mail. The Auckland Weekly News is now! issued, and may be had from all agents and runners.
