THE PLAGUE. (Received January 29, 11.17* p.m.) Sydney, January 29. A man at Kempsey, a place 280 miles from Sydney, has died of plague. X. P. WILLIS ACQUITTED. (Received .January 50, 1.13 a.m.) Sydney. January 29. Mr. X. P. Willis lias been acquitted on the charge of false pretences in connection with the land oases.
[Mr. Willis was arrested in South Africa, and brought back to Sydney under an extradition order.]
POEM ON MR. SEDDON. (Received January 30, 1.13 a.m.) Sydney, January 29. At, a meeting of New Zealanders resident in Sydney, to-day, it was resolved to have the J'jssex Evans poem written as a- tribute to Mr. Seddon, engrossed and forwarded to Mis. Seddon.
