ONE HUNDRED LIVES LOST.
RESCUES BY NAVAL BOATS. By Telegraph.— Press Association.—Copyright Hongkong, January 28. At Hongkong yesterday there was experienced a terrific rain storm. Though the storm lasted only ten minutes it swamped fifty of the native craft, and 100 persons were drowned. (Received January 29, 10.2 p.m.) Hongkong, January 29. Six British warships are lying at Hongkong. Boats from these put off to the rescue of the drowning people, and saved 150 of thorn.
