J'aeuoa, Monday. TiiK third annual meeting of the South Auckland Rifle Association was commenced this morning in fine weather. There were about 80 competitor*. 'Hip wind during the. day was very puzzling and challenges wore frequent. The meeting is being conducted without any hitch and there is an entire absence of complaints. Lieutenant-Colonel Porritt is in charge of the range and is being assisted by Sergeant-Major McDonald and the members of the committee. The secretary (Captain Hubbard) has again proved himself the right man for the position, as the arrangements are generally voted as all that could be desired. The- meeting wilt be concluded to-morrow. Tho matches concluded to-day were as follows:—
