AUCKLAND WEEKLY NEWS.

A BRITISH. TRIBUTE TO THE CHRISTMAS NUMBER.

AWARDED THE PALM,

is the Daily M til over-seas edition of December 22 the editor makes the following remarks:—This week I have received my yearly batch of Christina* numbers of some of the best-known journals printed in different parts of the Empire. For excellence of production I think 1 must unhesitatingly award the palm to the Christinas issue of the Auckland Wkkkt.y News. It contains 64 pages, full of most beautiful illustrations of typical New Zealand scenery. Anyone who could peruse its pages and not he seized with a desire to "puck up his traps" and at once take the steamer for New Zealand would indeed be hard to move. The whole issue was produced in New Zealand, and neither Great Britain nor the United States could surpass it from the standpoint of artistic and careful printing.
