EARLY AUSTRALIAN RELIC.
ANCHOR OF H.M.s. SIRIUS.

Sydney, January 27. The interesting ceremony of unveiling the anchor of H.M.s. Sirius, which convoyed the first fleet to Sydney, was performed yesterday. The vessel was wrecked on Norfolk Island in 1790. Recently her anchor was recovered, and lias been mounted on a stone pedestal on the site where Governor Phillip first resided.
H.M.s. Sirius was a frigate of 20 guns. With the .Supply brig (an armed tender) she acted as convoy to three storeships— the Golden Grove, Fishburn, and Borrowdale— and (six transportsthe Scarborough, Lady Penryhn, Friendship, Charlotte, Prince of Wales, and Alexanderwhich left England in May, 1787, and reached Botany Buy on January 20 of the following year. The Sirius was commanded by Captain John Hunter. The transports brought out 757 convicts and a number of marines.
