A BARQUE'S ROUGH VOYAGE.
THE ANGLO-NORMAN IN A HURRICANE. *
Thk Norwegian barque Anglo-Norman, which left Auckland on August 5, arrived at New York from Auckland on December 15. On December 6 the barque, when in latitude 36.20. longitude 72, encountered a hurricane from the south-south-west, with a heavy sea. During the hurricane the barque was obliged to lav-to tinder two lower topsails. The hurricane continued for some days, during which heavy seas broke on board. Hooding the decks continuall v. The fore hatch was broken in and the rudder damaged. Captain (.'arisen, in a private letter, received m Auckland yesterday. states that although he has been at sea for many years he has never experienced such severe weather as on the present voyage.
