CONDITIONS. Tenders to provide for— (a) FOUR-WEEKLY SERVICE. (0) SIX-nEEKL\ SERVICE. Loading and Discharging in New Zealand at Auckland. Wellington, and Lyttelion. Lyttelton to oe tne terminal port, and Auckland to be the final port of departure m New Zealand. Contract to be lor a period of one, two or three years, at Government's option. Steamers, alter departure lrorn New Zealand, to call at NoriolK Island and Noumea (New Caledonia), anil, 11 BUincienl inducement offer, to call at Vila (New Hebrides.. Steamers on return voyage to call at Norlolk Island, at Auckland, and thence to Wellington and Lyttelton. Steamers to be not less than 760 tons gross register, and to he able to load and discharge cargo at ports specified above. Lighterage, when necessary, to be paid by Contractor". Speed oi Steamers to be stated by tenderers. Steamers are required to be fitted and well equipped tor Passenger and Cargo trade, and generally adapted lor this service. Steamers to contain accommodation lor not less than 50 saloon ami 10 steerage passengers. Steamers to have sufficient cool space or refrigerator on hoard to supply at least the above number of passengers with fresh food throughout the voyage. Steamers to have suitable space on board for carriage of li.M. mails. Steamers to have accommodation to carrydairy and farm produce to port of destination' in good order and condition, and, if required, to lie able to carry live stock to Norfolk Island. Noumea, or New Hebrides. Tenderers to state rates of freight and passenger money required between all ports specified. No tender will, however, be entertained if rates of freight or passenger money are in excess of those ruling from Sydney to specified ports at- the present time. Tenderers to make their schedule of freights on an equal basis from the ports of Auckland. Wellington, and Lyttelton. Tenderers to state what period of time hefore berthing the first steamer in New Zealand, such time to count from the date of acceptance of the tender. Tenderers are requested to state the amounts of subsidy required per annum for either of the above services, and on a basis of one, two. and three years' contract. A tender and its acceptance are to be considered the establishment, of a contract binding on both sides, the cardinal points to bo consistent with this advertisement, the tender and its acceptance. Should any dispute arise over minor points, the matter in dispute shall be referred to arbitration. A deposit of One Thousand Pounds is to accompany each tender, and in the case of a successful .enderer to be returned upon completion of contract, and on the lodgment of a satisfactory bond.
