. Saturday evening. There was a fair amount of business on the sharemarket to-day. In insurances New Zealand (new issue) were- bought at 80s. Late buyers offered 79s 6cl, no declared sellers. Northern Steamship (contributing) changed hands at, 8s 3d, closing with sellers at. 8s 4d, buyers 8s 2d. Waihi showed a hardening tendency, sales being effected at £9. More were available at the same quotation, buyers offering £8 19s. Talismans were had at 32s 3d, and there was late inquiry at 31s 9d, sellers holding for 32s 3d. Waiotahis remained firm, shares selling at 32s 6d and 32s 9d. Late sellers asked 335, buyers 32s 6d. Crowns sold at 8s 9d, with nioro offering at. tho same price, buyers 8s 7d. Waihi Extendcds were placed at 5s 4d and closed with sellers at 5s sd, and buyers at 5s 4d. Waitangis (6d paid) were done at *s 8d to 4s 7d, late sellers asking 4s 8d buyers quoting 4s 7d. New Occidentals sold at 2d, late filers 2_d, buyers l£ri. Old Haurakis made 10d, late, buyers offering 9id tellers asking lid. New \Vaitekauris were done at lid, late sellers ll.d, buyers 10_d.
