IMPERIAL MARITIME CONFERENCE.
A LAKOi.Lv attended meeting of the committer ot the New Zealand Shipowners' Federation took place yesterday afternoon, when the question of the forthcoming Maritime Conference in Loudon was considered, »nd the. following resolution was tutauimDiitily passed:—"That Mr. James Mills he appointed to represent the .Shipowners' Federation at the Imperial Maritime Conference, and that he be requested to use his best endeavours to induce the representatives of Australia, Canada, and South Africa to approve of an Act similar to the 'New Zealand Coastwise Trade Act, 1903, so that the disadvantages under which colonially-rcgistered vessels (sail, steam, and vessels propelled by any other power) are working may be lessened."
