PROTECTION AND PROSPECTING WARRANTS.

Protection has been granted for a further period of six months in favour of Hardy's Mines. Limited, for seven special claims at Waiorongomai, near Te Aroha, and to Mr. A. L. Homers for the Martha United special claim at Waihi; for a further period of six months to Mr. H. H. Adams for the Monowai Deep special claim at Waiomo, Thames County, to the Golden Belt Company for the Golden Belt East special claim at Ncavesvillc, Thames County, to • the Old Alburnia Company for the New Middle Star and Alburnia West special claims. Thames, to Mr. J. W. Walker, for four special claims at Waihi. A mineral prospecting warrant for antimony, over 1000 acres at Puhipuhi, near Wha'ngavei. about 120 miles north of Auckland, has been consented to in favour of Mr. Thomas Holder. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. New Bunker's Hill (December 22): Rising is being continued on the lona reef, a distance of 7ft having been completed during the past week. The reef formation is 2ft wide, and the quartz, on the hanging and foot walls is favourable and highly mineralised. Gold should De met with at any . time. Driving is being continued on the cross lead, a distance of 9ft having been driven for the week. At present the formation is about lft wide, intermixed with pug and quartz, and. the indications are very encouraging for further developments. Rising has been extended on the. 4in leader a distance of 6ft for the past week, and a slope lias been carried on for a distance of lift. During the week colours of gold Hvere seem in the quartz, and at this point the leader varies from lin to 3in in width, and is 'well mineralised. -,',/ .-•.,,;'..
