EXHIBITION CYCLING RACE MEETING.

The Exhibition cycle race meeting concluded to-day. The principal results were: Australasian Farewell Stakes, Mile Scratch Race: Farley .. (Victoria), 1: G. Sutherland (New Zealand), 2; Brook (New South Wales), 3. Time, 2m. 17 2-ss. Christmas Wheel Race, two miles:' H. E. Mahrtens, 120 yds, 1; G. A. Smith, 180 yds, 2: P. Summers, 130 yds, 3. Time, 4m. 21s.
On September 26 last Mr. W. H. Herries, M.H.R. for the Bay of Plenty, from his place in the House of Representatives, asked a question in connection with the post office buildings at Rotorua, the reply to which has just been received. The letter is signed by the Postmaster-General, and is dated Wellington, December 10. It reads as follows :—" In reference to your question in the House of Representatives on September 26 last, in connection with the post office building at Rotorua, I .have the honor to inform you that it has been decided to carry out the proposed alterations and additions to the existing building." The alterations and additions referred to are to be commenced almost immediately.
