MINING IN STEWART ISLAND

Gisbornk, Monday. Whiting from Half-moon Bay, Stewart Island, Mr. A. Vowles states that the assays he had made of minerals on the island were so good that he has lodged ail application for 200 acres of ground 011 behalf of an Auckland syndicate. He has proposed to start mining for tin.
