' WHAXGAHEI, Friday. At the annual meeting of the North Auckland
Hospital and Charitable Aid Board Mr. .1. I). McKeuzie icl,airm.in) and most, members were present. Mr. Marshall, Uitj Bay of-Islands County representative', tendered hi» resignation as a protest againiit Mr. i. D. MeKenzie's exclusion from the Board. Tlk- resignation was accepted with regret, and Mi. .1. B. McKenzie was chosen to fill the extraordinary vacancy thus caused,'an amendment that the Board had not the power to (ill the vacancy being lost by six votes to four. Mr., McKenzie took' his seat at the table as a member, 1 and a motion was immediately moved that he be chairman. Mr. J one* was also proposed for the position, which Mr. McKenzie secured by five votes to four.' A communication from the AuditorGeneral stated that lie had been, instructed that the audit, inspector had. disallowed the subsidy claim on the special rate struck by the Mangomii County Council in aid of the new hospital at. Mangonui. The Chairman' said the Minister for Public Health bits since overcome the difficulty by a special grant in lieu of the subsidy. Mr. Robert Muii- (secretary and chairman) resigned his posbion After 19 yeans' continuous service. It was decided to accept the resignation and giant. Mr. Mair a : ..bomi3 equal to 12 in lis' salary. It was resolved that there be an executive, consisting of live members, who. were elected as follows : —The Mayor and Messrs J. D. McKenzie, B. Jones, 11. H. llawken. and Stuart. II was decided that Mew,rß. A. Bassett, Downs, and Trounson be appointed to represent the Hoard on the Northern. Wairoa Hospital Board trustees.
