Yesterday was a gala day for the children of the Bemuera Orphan Home. On the- invitation of the Misses Bows and pupils of the Mount Eden Collegiate School, the little ones were driven in brakes to Mount Eden, where they were most hospitably entertained in the college grounds. At the end of last term, it will be remembered, the pupils of this school held a bazaar in aid of the Queen Victoria School for Maori girls. With a small surplus which they had over in'their scholarship fund, they provided a Christmas gift for each child in the home.
