The Mayor stated that the Council had met for the appointment of four delegate* from the Council to the - Hospital ■• and Charitable Aid Board. He thought it was unnecessary for him to say how, much the Council valued the good work done on the Board by its representatives, Messrs. Bagnail, Knight, Grey, and Casey. It was impassible to speak 100 highly of the admirable manner in which they, had discharged duties which no one could with justice describe as other than onerous. *«"

Mr. Hutchison supported the Mayor. The public, now heard but--very little complaint about the management of the institutions under the Board, and 'it was - generally admitted that a very material change for the better had taken place at the hospital and at the Costley Home under the management of the present Board. (" No, no.") . The Council was most desirous that the old members should retain their sweats.

The four gentlemen abovementioned were unanimously re-elected delegates from the Council to the Board. ... On the motion of the Mayor, a. hearty vote of thanks was accorded the delegates, Messrs. Farrell, Smeetdn; and Entriean supporting. '■' • ',; P U
