In standard linos New Zealand Insurances sold at £4 ls6d and £4 ls 9d, and closed with inquiry at £4 Is, sellers asking £4 2s. Thames Gas had" sales at 335. and more could have been placed at 37s 6d, late sellers demanding 395. . Kauri Timbers (contributing) were done at 5s 4d ; late sellers j 5s 3d, buyers 5s 2d. Parker-Lamb* were; dealt in at 25s 6d, and there were late buyers at 24s 6d; no declared sellers. D.S.C's changed hands at ,7s 8d; late sellers 7s 9d, j buyers .7s 6rl. N.Z. Portland Cements sold j at 395, and closed with demand at 38s 9d; ' late sellers 39s 6d. In mining stocks Waihis were rather firmer, and after business at ; £9 closed with sellers at £9 and buyers at £8 19s. Talismans were placed at 31s 3d, 31s, and 31s 3d; late sellers 31s 3d, buyers i ■31s. Waiotahis were done at 28s 6d, at which | figure more were wanted, late sellers 28s 9d. i Kuranui-Calcdonians sold at Is 2d; late '• sellers Is 3d, buyers Is Id. Southern Queens were again a, trifle firmer, and had .sales at 8d for shares with 6d paid up, and-at 7d and 7|d for contributing. Paid-ups closed with sellers at 9d and buyers at and contributing with sellers at 8J and buyers at 7d. Waitangi.s sold at 4s 5d for 6d paid, and 4s 4d and 4s 6d fo. contributing. They were firmer at the closing call, late sellers of 6d paid asking 4s'lod, and buyers offering 4s Jid, while for contributing sellers held for 4s Bd, and buyers quoted 4s 6d. Bonanzas (paid) sold at lid. lOd. IOJd. and lid, and contributing at Bid. Nine thousand nine hundred and forty-two bales of wool were catalogued for the London wool sales now proceeding. The bale* are mostly. Australian new clip. There was a crowded attendance yesterday from ail parts. Compared with September closing prices, best merinos were fully 10 per cent, higher; medium and faulty, 5 per cent. ; croesbreds, a " rubbishy" selection. 10 per cent, higher.
