It is reported that a body of Scnussi tribesmen have annihilated a .French military party at a point 200 miles, ■orth-east of Lake Chad. The French party consisted of a camel patrol of one officer, and 60 men. The Senussi tribesmen effected a surprise and killed every man of the patrol. The Senussi tribesmen are a' Mussulman ■brotherhood belonging to the Sahara, with their chief seat at, Jarabub, on the frontier of Kgvpt and Tripoli. The* have convents and a" university. The membership of the brotherhood has been various placed between 1,500.000 and 3,000,000. he patrol would belomr to the forces of French "est Africa and the Sahara.
