| DIVIDEND OF 400 PER CENT. jßy Telegraph— Association.—Copyright London, October 11. | The Premier Diamond Company has J declared a dividend of 400 per cent, I and the half-crown shares are sell- [ ing at 2705. The Premier mine produces nearly all the ! diamonds got in the Transvaal, and it is a | remarkably rich mine. In 1902 a Mr. Conj nolly purchased the farm on which the mine j exists, ' for about £30.000. In that year j the output of all the diamond mines in the | colony was 1064 carats, worth £2402. The j return for 1903 (the increase being entirely i due to the Premier mine) was 174,97*6 j carats.. worth £239,752; in 1904 it was 884.330 carats, value £1,150,873, and in the i first seven months of 1905, 523,348 carats, ! worth £604,734. The great yield of 1904 : was due largely to the discovery of the j 3000-carat diamond, known as the Connolly. I This diamond was insured for £500,000 for j its passage to England, and it is said that j it was sent in the parcels post.' M ,
