THE RECENT FIGHT ON THE S.S. SUSSEX. .. SAILORS IN TROUBLE. '. As a sequel to the disturbance which occurred on board the s.s. Suffolk on Wednesday afternoon/Alexander Dalberg (seaman) and Alfred Pyram (fireman) were yesterday charged before Messrs. E. F. Melville and W. H. Martin, J.IVs, at the Police Court, with disorderly conduct by fighting. They both admitted their guilt. .Sergeant Hendry gave an account of the disturbance on board the vessel identical if with the report published in yesterday's HKRAXD. He further said that the language « used as the fight proceeded was shocking, but they did not know who the exact offenders were. The Bench convicted and discharged the accused/ and ordered them to pay costs in connection with the case. I- George W. Bailey, charged with obstructing Constable Armstrong, who had endeavoured to separate the last two accused, when asked to plead, replied "Guilty. '. I had drink." Two respectably dressed young men admitted having used threatening behaviour > in Market Lane, whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned.' Sergeant Hendry said the two accused had created "a slight disturbance." * They were comrades, and one of them, who had escaped arrest, had come forward that,? morning to have the matter settled. The accused were convicted and discharged. DRUNKENNESS. Alice Fenwick, a, second offender, was prohibited and recommitted to the Door of Hope, the Bench expressing the hope that she would appreciate the chance given her. • Another woman, a first offender, who had taken a serial of fits in the police cells, was f ordered to par 2s 6d cab. fare,. and a 15s - ■'••>"'medical expenses!
