The Duke of Cumberland has offered that he and his eldest son shall renounce their claims to the throne of Brunswick if his youngest son is allowed to take the dukedom. The Kaiser has replied that the resolution of the Federal Council of July 2, 1885, still barred the way, and Prince Bulow has replied that the Duke of Cumberland's proposal is unacceptable.
