A CONSTABLE STABBED.
WOMAN PRISONER CHARGED. • What appears to be a serious ease of stabbung took place last night, about, eleven o'clock. It seems that a young woman ' named Ada Jameson was arrested by Constable A. Murray' for drunkenness; oft Queen-street .Wharf.' She was placed in a hansom cab and driven to the police station. While on the way, it is alleged, she stabbed Constable Murray with a pocket knife. The woman was placed in. the .' police cells, and the constable was immediately driven to the hospital, where lie was ,;■"."'.' admitted. It was found that he was suffering from rather serious wounds to his right knee and his left hand. The woman Jameson was before the Court yesterday for drunkenness. She was a first offender, and was released on paying cab fare and 15s medical expenses. She had taken fits in , ' the cells. _______ ; '
