The German Government has notified 19,000 alien colliers employed in the Rhenish provinces that they must leave the country, by December 20. The reason stated for the order ;is. that the presence of such large numbers of aliens is undesirable on gene- ■ ral principles., Including wives and families, 50,000 are affected by the order. The people affected are mostly Austrians and Italians. , In June last 1000 alien cigarette-makers ■ in Berlin were given a fortnight's notice to .. leave the country.
