Evans, being * appointed Recorder of Swansea, has t resulted in the unopposed return of Mr. Evans, the railway men not nominating a Labour candidate. At the- conference of railway men at Cardiff last week it,was decided to ask the Labour Representation Committee to select Mr. Holmes, secretary of the South Wales Railway Servants' Union, as a candidate to , oppose the re-election of Mr. Evans. For this action the Hon. Ivor Guest, member for fc Cardiff District, refused to attend the public dinner of the delegates. Mr. Evans is a > Liberal, l ____ r : I ' ' ' ~"
