waitemata BOATING CLUB. ; The annual meeting of the WaiteuiaU Boating Club was held in the Sports Club room on Monday evening. There was a large attendance of members, and His Worship the Mayor (Mr. A. M. Myers), commodore of the club, presided. , The annual report and balance-sheet submitted were very satisfactory, and were passed unanimously. The report congratulated the members upon the work of the season, and staled that the membership was being steadily augmented. In view )■ of the early inclusion of doublesculling in local regattas, and the expected increase in membership, inquiries had been instituted respecting the price of two double scullers (convertible pair oars), and a racing four. In five regattas the club competed in 20 events, securing eight firsts, six seconds, and three thirds, and were unplaced! on three occasions. There was a balance of £16 10s 6d standing to the credit of the building fund for the new boathouse. The statement of accounts showed receipts amounting to £247 8s lOd, against an expenditure of £245 5s lOd (including £70 0s 5d for new oars, freight, duty, etc.), leaving a balance of £2 3s. The balance-sheet showed a balance- of assets over liabilities amounting to £295 16s 6d. The Commodore cordially congratulated the members upon the splendid season's record. He suggested, in connection with shed accommodation, that the committso should communicate with the committee of the Auckland Rowing Club, with the view of combined action in approaching tho Harbour Board, and to ask them to locate at the earliest possible moment tho particular site they intend reserving for the purposes of rowing.
