BOXING. NORTHERN BOXING ASSOCIATION. THE Northern Boxing Association held a club night in its rooms, Victoria-street, last night. There was a very fair attendance of members J. McOonnell, who recently won the Australasian heavy-weight championship, was welcomed back. The medals won at the recent championship carnival were presented, the recipients being:—J. McConnell' (heavyweight). Lewis (middle-weight). Blewden (light-weight). Godfrey (feather-weight). Ward (bantam). Godfrey was also presented with Mr. Dyer's medal for the" most scientific exhibition of boxing at the carnival. Hunter, Hayward. Gault. and Walk in were also presented with trophies won at the carnival. * HOKIANGA BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS. The winners of the Hokianga boxing championships on Saturday night were :.—F. Nash (light-weight) and M. Perkinson (middleweight). The open championship was won by Whitford (Auckland), the feather-weight bv Cottrill (Auckland), the light-weight by Maloney (Auckland), the middle-weight by K. Wnrmington (Hokianga), and the heavyweight by Largehouse. CRICKET. NORTH SHORE v. PARNELL. BOTOBUA RUGBY UNION. The Rotorua Rugby 'Union have now closed the 1906 season. Nine representative matches were played, all of which were won, the most important wins being those against the Wednesday Rugby Union and Thames. The following is the record:— 6. v. Piako 3: Rotorua 18, v. Waipa 0; Rotorua 16, v. Te Puke 3: Rotorua 41. v. Te Puke 0; Rotorna 19, v. Auckland Wednesday Rugby Union 0; Rotorua 6, v. Thames 0; Rotorua,' 8, v.. Tauranga 3; Rotorua, 9, v. Matata 0; Rotorua, 11, v. Tauranga 5. Rotorua succeeded in scoring 134 points against .14, their line only being crossed three times in nine matches. The annual social was hold- on Friday night, at which the championship caps and silver cup given by Messrs. L. I). Nathan and Co. and Hancock and Co. were presented to the Waikite Football Club, and the junior caps to the Whakarewarewa Football Club. GOLF.
