ATHLETIC NOTES.

BOXING. NORTHERN BOXING ASSOCIATION. THE Northern Boxing Association held a club night in its rooms, Victoria-street, last night. There was a very fair attendance of members J. McOonnell, who recently won the Australasian heavy-weight championship, was welcomed back. The medals won at the recent championship carnival were presented, the recipients being:—J. McConnell' (heavyweight). Lewis (middle-weight). Blewden (light-weight). Godfrey (feather-weight). Ward (bantam). Godfrey was also presented with Mr. Dyer's medal for the" most scientific exhibition of boxing at the carnival. Hunter, Hayward. Gault. and Walk in were also presented with trophies won at the carnival. * HOKIANGA BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS. The winners of the Hokianga boxing championships on Saturday night were :.—F. Nash (light-weight) and M. Perkinson (middleweight). The open championship was won by Whitford (Auckland), the feather-weight bv Cottrill (Auckland), the light-weight by Maloney (Auckland), the middle-weight by K. Wnrmington (Hokianga), and the heavyweight by Largehouse. CRICKET. NORTH SHORE v. PARNELL. BOTOBUA RUGBY UNION. The Rotorua Rugby 'Union have now closed the 1906 season. Nine representative matches were played, all of which were won, the most important wins being those against the Wednesday Rugby Union and Thames. The following is the record:— 6. v.
