The steamer Lord Antrim; which cleared ■ > from Sydney last week, when under orders to remain until the life-saving apparatus had been put. in order, has arrived here. -The captain of the steamer says that while he was in Sydney a pilot was ordered, but one failed to turn up. The authorities ordered him to make room :; for another vessel, and he had only the option of getting out of the way or committing a serious offence. Not having a pilot, and knowing no safe anchorage, he took the only alternative, and cleared out. Generally, lie condemned the methods of inspection at Sydney. .
