FOOTBALL.

THE annual fixture between the North and South Islands takes place- in Wellington on Saturday. The Auckland members of the team leave for Wellington this afternoon via Onehuaga.

Last Wednesday was occupied with the match between the combined Maori colleges (St. Stephen's and Three Kings), and the Wednesday junior " reps." The Maori boys gave quite an attractive exhibition, handling the ball cleanly and well and playing with great dash;'they well deserved their victory. Practically the end has been reached of the "rep." fixtures of the Wednesday Union, as there seems little chance of the matches arranged for coming off. Possibly the Whangarei match may eventuate, but there is no definite information.
