GREAT NORTH ROAD.

Wellington, Saturday. During his visit to Wellington this week. \Mr. J. Fan-ell (Mayor of Grey Lynn), has been attending to various matters connected with his borough, more especially the question of the revoting of the grant of £1500 for the proposed deviation of the Great North Road. He has interviewed the member for the district (the Hon. G. Fowlds), and Mr. Bollard, both of whom have promised to keep the matter under the notice of the Minister for Public Works. The plans have already been approved by the Department, and it is hoped that the work will be undertaken as .soon as the grant is available.
