By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.
(Received July 21, 12.53 a.m.) ' Sydney, July 20.:. Amongst the statements made by the- disaffected tramway men was that the West-inghouse-Newell magnetic brake is unreli-. able. The Railway Commissioners appointed a. board of experts, including leading tramway officials of other States, and Professor Pollock, of Sydney University, to report on the brake. The board, after examining a large number of witnesses, and testing the equipment, report unanimously in favour of the brake. They say it is prompt and efficient in action, and powerful for emergency stop.
