TELEGRAPH POLES COLLAPSE.

Five telegraph poles collapsed in Victoriastreet to-night, near the Mercer-street intersection, causing considerable alarm in the neighbourhood. The poles were subject to heavy strain, being cumbered with five telephone cables, each weighing about six; tons, besides large numbers of single wires.
